Self-Preservation: Navigating the Weight of the Work

A forum amongst professionals geared towards carrying the load of working within tragic circumstances.

Nursing & Social Work CEUs Provided

Supporting children and families through the death of a child is deeply meaningful work, but it also carries a profound emotional toll. This interactive forum is designed for professionals working in the child loss field to come together in a supportive space to acknowledge the weight of their work, explore strategies for building resilience, and prioritize their own well-being. Through shared discussion and practical approaches to self-care, participants will leave with renewed tools for sustaining themselves while continuing to provide compassionate care to others.

The session will begin with a welcome, grounding exercise, and an opportunity to set shared intentions for the day. Participants will then engage in a facilitated roundtable discussion, creating space to reflect on the unique challenges and emotional weight of working in the child loss field while learning from the experiences of colleagues. The forum will conclude with a guided meditation, followed by time for personal reflection and closing remarks, allowing participants to leave feeling centered, renewed, and equipped with strategies to support their own well-being as they return to their important work.
